LIVING LANDSCAPES THINK TANK

Fresh Thinking for a sustainable South East Queensland

Fifty bright young minds converged on Landsborough, on Queensland's Sunshine Coast the weekend of 10th-12th of August, 2007 to generate a ground-breaking vision for the future of South East Queensland's Regional Landscape and Open Space, in response to the pressures associated with a rapidly developing region.

Young people participated in the Living Landscapes Think Tank run by the Youth Environment Society.  They provided input about "youth values" into current planning processes including the Regional Landscape Framework and Natural Resource Management Plan and the Local Growth Management Strategy.

Key issues explored included outdoor recreation, rural production, nature conservation, scenic amenity, extractive and mineral resources, landscape heritage, landscape corridors, water sources and catchments, coastal waters and foreshores and regional infrastructure.
